BACKGROUND
In medical sciences and especially in surgery traditionally illustrations are created to enable communication between scientist and reader, teacher and student, and physician and patient. Art and science come together in medical illustration.

BIOMAB offers a unique opportunity to those students who wish to study and explore human anatomy together with highly regarded medical artists at the 12th BIOMAB-ARSIC Dissection Drawing Day. You will take part in an intensive workshop, lectures and group discussions on human anatomy, with time to draw, to paint and to photograph.

Specialists in human anatomy (Prof. Dr. Francis Van Glabbeek, dr. Geert Van Eeckhout) will dissect and explain in close detail an upper and lower arm, an upper and lower leg (fresh frozen).
Medical artist and AEIMS president Pascale Pollier will hold a wax workshop on The Anatomy of Facial Expression.
BIOMAB scientific member dr. Ann Van de Velde will supervise the full day.
